Booked 1 week ahead of Thanksgiving weekend. 2 beds = 2 rooms linked together. Refrigerator Free WiFi that ACTUALLY works. I cant tell you how many times Ive stayed somewhere that had free WiFi, only to find that it was broken or down AFTER I was given the passcode. This place - worked regularly and reliably. Free breakfast - that included hot food. Scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles. The room was clean and stain-free. Plenty of pillows. Yes, this place is a bit older, but seriously - age isnt an issue, and this place reflects the environment and culture of Flagstaff. $60 per night - on a weekend. HUGE deal for this price. We will be back again!

The rate of the hotel is relatively cheap (at least at this time of the year). It clean. The breakfast is quite good with a variety of foods including fruits. The downside is that we lived in building #1, which is probably the one closest to the railway. So its noisy when the train came by. Also the AC is a bit old and noisy.

Great price ($60), we got a large Presidential Suite with jacuzzi tub! Renovating (saw couches and roof upgrades) is happening. Old school kitchenette. Really comfortable bed. Clerk was nice and helpful. Not a new hotel and no smells or stains. Lotsa wear and tear. Great view. Happy hour = free beer or wine with chips and salsa in older restaurant-like room. Great wind-down after long drive.

I wouldnt know where to start about how bad this property was. I realize the hotel was recently purchased and they are starting to upgrade, but the conditions in this hotel are uninhabitable. Its especially hard for me to read the positive reviews about this hotel and not see right through them as a lie. I will say the staff was very kind and accommodating. The hot breakfast was acceptable and a nice perk. The WiFi worked great and the beds were comfortable. But thats pretty much were it ends. The upgrades theyve made to the property were done improperly and not even to code in many places. The room itself was EXTREMELY worn and run down. The door barely closed and locked. The windows didnt lock. There was a definitely concern with safety there. The bathroom grout was falling out, and there was debris and cast off from the last 500 people that have staying in the room in the spaces between the tiles. The fan was not covered and you look right up into the ceiling and see the last 50 years of grime and build up. Very, very unsanitary. The floors hadnt been vacuumed, swept, or scrubbed. I found hair in the tub and the countertop by the microwave had not been cleaned. The furniture was missing handles, didnt close properly, and was so banged up. What repairs had been done in the room and around the property werent done properly and I was disturbed they are paying someone to do this who doesnt know what they are doing. Because they made a mess of recently painted walls, the building, recently patched sidewalks done improperly, caulking in the bathroom done improperly and already falling out. The tile in the bathroom looked recent, but was in terrible condition. Question about whether they subfloor was treated properly before installation took place; the grout is already falling out. Very sad. Anyway, cleanliness being my biggest concern and complaint - they didnt even put us in a clean room. And once we got back to the room after a dinner out, we realized how dirty it was, they couldnt send a maid in because they were gone, and they couldnt move us. We were forced to stay in the room. The staff, however, were very kind and did the right thing by refunding my money. I cant tell you how much I appreciated that. It turned what could have been a disastrous fall break for my kids into a positive because we were able to relocate. Sorry to leave such a negative review. I dont normally review at all - because who cares. But, I felt the reviews I read before booking at this hotel were misleading.

This place needs some renovation.Front desk people were great, room was pretty clean, the only problem we had was the windows didnt lock. Breakfast was good. Will definitely stay there again but we hope they dress it up a bit.

We love staying here! Every time we head up north we book Hotel Aspen. The staff is great from check in, to the breakfast buffet (also delicious). What a great group of pleasant people. It snowed a bit more than we anticipated & the front desk was very understanding about extending checkout & did so for us. Keep up the great work folks! Cant wait to schedule our next trip. Keep up the great work guys!

There are items in the room that need to be upgraded such as the refrigerator and microwave. The customer service during check in was great. My friend and I loved the service during the social hour and breakfast. Adrian is awesome! He was so attentive, full of energy and easy going.

If you love the nostalgia of old time Flagstaff / Route 66, its an area to explore. We were in town the weekend of the university graduation and had there been other rooms available at other places we would have opted out of this place. One a good note , the little breakfast diner was decorated cute and the very friendly host was a joy to shoot the breeze with. Flagstaff is a train town.. and the fact remains that the trains go by every 22 minutes. Thank fully they are not blaring horns. For some of us, its a melancholy sound, others not at all.

I understand your under construction but a couple things are missing for a hotel. First a towel rack to hang the hand towel on in the bathroom once you wash/dry your hands after being washed. Also one to hang body towels on once you get out the shower. Second hangers and a place to hang clothes. Third dishes and pots and pans for the kitchen. Also extra chairs or bar stools at the counter looking into the kitchen for people to eat at once they made the food in the kitchen. Fourth a alarm clock or any kind of clock. Fifth extra pillows and a blanket for the sleeper sofa. Sixth anti slip strips on the sidewalks outside (they look like sandpaper)

I forgot another thing. New blackout curtains. The current ones have a bunch of tiny holes so in the am the sun shines threw.

Good staff front desk & breakfast! Older room needs updates. Air conditioning did not cool both rooms overnight. Good shower though.

  • Sophia Tesch

We had fun, good price, but place needs love and something to make rooms quieter! Thank you.

  • Michael Schneider

Should have more variety during the social hour, breakfast was good.

Air conditioning too loud and not consistent. It would get too warm then come on and be too cold. It would be nice to have continous outside air coming in. Management could not turn off light in room. We unscrewed the bulb.
